Chocolate Orange Sheet Cake

Family recipe that is following Sonja on every family event since she was a kid. If you need quick cake solution which needs to be a star of the party, this is the one.

Instructions

Preparing In The Kitchen
  1. Heat up the oven to 190 ºC. Grease a square cake sheet pan and set aside.
  2. Melt 150 g chocolate.
  3. Mix the egg yolks with 150g of sugar for few minutes, until pale. Add vanilla sugar and the melted chocolate. Mix slowly all together then add milk and oil.
  4. In a small bowl, mix flour with baking powder and add it to the mixture, mix it all well.
  5. Separately beat up the egg whites until firm and add them slowly to the mixture. Do not over mix it.
  6. Pour in the mixture bake for about 20 minutes.
  7. In the meantime, mix 100g of sugar and water, bring to boil. Add the orange and lemon juice and zest.
  8. Once cake is done, pour over the mixture (cake needs to be warm). Leave the cake to cool down completely.
  9. In the meantime, melt rest of the chocolate with butter. Once cake cooled down, spread over the jam and on top glaze it with melted chocolate. Cool it down again until chocolate is firm.
